Today I was pleasantly surprised to see on my Gmail the option of dialing to landlines via Google Voice .

Learn more by clicking, went to the page where it explains that links to the United States and Canada are free. And links to other countries prices are very attractive .

Table prices per minute for calls from Google Voice to Brazil (in dollars):

Brazil - Other (all landlines in Brazil, except cities below) = $ 0.04
Brazil - Belo Horizonte = $ 0.03
Brazil - Mobile (cell phones throughout Brazil) = $ 0.15
Brazil - Rio de Janeiro = $ 0.02
Brazil - Sao Paulo = $ 0.02

I mean, a call from anywhere in the world to BH, costs 3 cents a minute. As for Sao Paulo and Rio, two cents. Any time of day or night, any day.

Assuming the dollar today, March 7, 2011 is costing £ 1.76, every minute of connection to SP or Rio comes less than 4 cents of Real.

A practical example.

BH Connection in Curitiba or Sao Paulo, 07/03/2011 at 19:05 with a duration of 5 minutes.

Embratel, the basic plan: U.S. $ 2.44
Hi Fixed basic plan: U.S. $ 2.91
Telefonica, the basic plan: A $ 3.75
Google Voice, dollar to R $ 1.76: $ 0.36

How to put credits on Google Voice?

Visit the site in the left menu click Add Credit.

On the next screen choose Brazil and insert the data from your credit card. I believe that only international credit cards are able to make the purchase.
