Maniçoba in Belo Horizonte

Category: Geral May 30, 2010 By: Maysa Category: General

Maniçoba, also known as feijoada Pará, is a staple of Brazilian cuisine, of Indian origin. Your preparation is made from ground cassava leaves and cooked for about one week (to remove the plant that the hydrocyanic acid, which is poisonous), plus pork, beef and other smoked and savory ingredients. Then in 1997, tried at my friend Bibi, Lavras, the so-maniçoba. Love with the return, only. Remember a feijoada, but it takes one week to be made. Since then, only ate again in mid-2002, in Porto Alegre, in the house of a friend who lived there from Bethlehem in the south, and the family took when I went for a walk.

Behold Bibi reunion yesterday, after 12 years without seeing each other and what it brings to me?? Maniçoba! What a delight! I could not stand, you know, I ate it last night when I got the street.

Maniçoba

Thanks, Bibi! At that brought so much, I can eat several times. But please do not leave me so many years without maniçoba, return more often to Belzonte :)
