How to prevent image theft on WordPress

Category: Dicas April 7, 2010 By: Maysa Category: Tips

How to prevent image theft on WordPress This is the old problem of mine: theft of images. They take an image that is hosted here on my server and put on other sites. This is known as hotlinking and using my band and my server's resources to feed other sites that have nothing to do with mine.

Today I found a WordPress plugin called " WordPress Automatic Image Hotlink Protection , "which does this in one click. Just send it to the server, enable the plugin, click Settings -> Hotlink Protection, and click enable. That's it.

He edited my. Htaccess, added a few codes and sites that stole my images are now blank, without displaying it.

This could have come also to the list of Essential WordPress Plugins :)

Improve Adsense ads

Category: Dicas February 5, 2010 By: Maysa Category: Tips

Improve Adsense ads This week I upgraded the system here in my blog. After the changes I noticed that many ads appear in the center of the blog did not have much to do with the subject of the post.

Then the penny dropped that this was due to right sidebar get a list of the most commented posts ... and the ads always had to do with those issues. Then I remembered an Adsense code that we can define where it is really important to be read for advertisers related to the text are shown. It is emphasized as a part of the text for the ads displayed are related to it.

Enter the code:

<! - Google_ad_section_end ->

and then close it with:

<! - Google_ad_section_end ->

Thus, more attention will be given to content that is between these two tags.

And we can also ignore parts of the text, so they will not be read and displayed relacioados advertisers. Simply change the start tag for <! - Google_ad_section_end (weight = ignore) ->

Category: Dicas December 30, 2009 By: Maysa Category: Tips

I saw these tips below the site of the IDG News Service and found it very interesting, so I'll share with you:

Five tips that can increase the audience of your site

Determine goals and priorities, enter the correct keywords and have lots of patience are some of the recommendations.

Over 90% of users do not look beyond the first page of search results, according to a study by web expert Jakob Nielsen. With these numbers, it is not surprising that all the companies want their sites in the top ten in a search result.

But with billions of web pages, to reach this special place is a serious challenge. That's where the search engine optimization (SEO in English).

With this method, a small business can greatly increase your chances of appearing on the first page of relevant results from a web search. "The good news is that there are millions of searches with keywords made every month," says the CEO of SEO.com, Dave Bescom. "That means you have billions of opportunities."

But do not get excited too. The improvement in the exposure of your website will happen gradually.

To start your optimization work, do little promotion pay-per-click (CPC) ad keywords - with Google AdWords, for example - linked to a relevant landing page on your website with an explicit appeal to a share. It can be an invitation to connect for free to you and make an appointment any, suggests the vice president and co-founder of SEO-PR, Jamie O'Donn.

For ease, here are the top five tips for optimization to increase the status of your site in search engines.

1 - Determine goals, priorities and measurements

Before starting an SEO campaign, develop measurable goals and priorities, and a plan to review them periodically. Certain questions must be answered: what are your current business needs? Which of your products or services is the most important for promotion at the moment? What do you want visitors to your site?

Next, decide how to measure success. Add to your site the free service from Google Analytics to measure the audience. For him, will be revealed which keywords are used by visitors to find your site, among other features.

2 - Keywords for Research

Often, a seller does not describe their products using the words of knowledge of buyers. You may be promoting "portable media players," for example, but your potential clients call "MP3". Hence the importance of talking with employees, partners and customers to determine which words are used more often.

Several search tools are available to help you choose the best conditions for optimization. No cost, AdWords Keyword Tool, Google will help you evaluate the attendance that the keywords are searched in the United States and in countries poutros and how competitive they are.
