When it comes time to replace the notebook

4 ½ years ago I bought the notebook I use for work. A Sony Vaio Centrino 1.73 GHz, originally with 512 MB of memory, but I did upgrade to 2GB. 80 GB HDD. Serves me very well and served me this time. And also traveled extensively 
Was expensive in those days ... 5000 Actual (or $ 2,000).
Sony's products are really amazing. For some think it is coming time to buy another.
1 - In a few months back here a few letters of the notebook keyboard do not work. How to use a keyboard and mouse into the USB port to minimize the pain in the shoulders and arms, it made me miss, but always have to plug the keyboard in order to type something, because there are many letters that no longer work.
2 - Another problem since long time ago is the question of hard drive space. I could not upgrade because it is such a larger than IDE and 160GB ... I thought it was not thought out to compensate for 80GB 160GB (just wanted 500 lol). So I'm for years with an HD-removable neck strap.
3 - Well, the battery ... after all this time of use, yesterday she just died! I the manager and says it is not plugged. Price of one? $ 300.00 each (who do not know if it's new, revamped, generic, so ...).
4 - The three USB ports were sufficient 4 ½ years ago. Today does not meet it. As never remember to buy the hub to increase the number of entries, must always be some accessories alternating with 3 available ports 
Finally, it is an expense that I did not mean for this year. He had other goals, we'll see how now. Sony Vaio wanted another but because the price may have to vary. Suggestions?!
