Microsoft cuts MSN access in countries embargoed by the U.S.
Cuba, Syria, Iran, Sudan and North Korea can no longer use MSN

American politics seems to have wounded once the internet. According to a statement published by the website Digital Trends , the giant Microsoft has cut the access of countries suffering from U.S. sanctions to its instant messaging system, Windows Live Messenger. Were affected Cuba, Syria, Iran, Sudan and North Korea.

Microsoft cuts MSN access in countries embargoed by the U.S. Besides being economically embargoed countries by the United States, Internet users of these sites also can no longer communicate through Live Messenger, or MSN, its former name. Windows Live Messenger is one of the most used Internet communicators. Any user of this country that try to connect to the system receives the following message:

"810003c1: We are unable to connects it to. NET Messenger Service. Reason: Microsoft has discontinued the Instant Messaging service in certain countries subject to U.S. sanctions. Details of these sanctions are available in the Office of Foreign Assets in the United States. "

The All About Microsoft blog site ZDnet however, does not know why Bill Gates's company had cut off their access to MSN countries only now, since the embargoes have been around for years. "I can confirm that the ad is correct," was the only information obtained from a company spokesperson.

However, despite Microsoft and the United States, the Internet is still a free site. For those who can no longer communicate through MSN, you can also use GTalk, Google's instant messenger, the microblog Twitter, and even old channels, such as ICQ and IRC.

  2. The internet is still free but the U.S. still has the power to do whatever they want with the rest of the world, and I find it far worse than any embargo o_O
