Mature processes priest for marriage hastily
The priest of a church in the region of Barreiro, in Belo Horizonte, was obliged to indemnify a newlywed couple, after hastily conclude their marriage. According to the action, the Church would have marked the ceremony at 20h, while the bride and groom thought the time would be 20.30. The mismatch caused irritation to the priest, who, according to the couple celebrated the Mass in 15 minutes, not given the final blessing to the newlyweds and the guests still mistreated. After the incident, the two decided to sue the priest.

The case occurred in October 2005. According to the action, when the groom arrived at the church, the priest was already angry, complaining that the couple were late. He then allegedly threatened not to perform the marriage.

While the bridegroom and the priest argued, the bride, who was still in the salon getting ready for marriage, was advised by telephone. Hurriedly, she finished getting ready and went to church. In his testimony, the woman said she met Father irreducible. The priest would be called irresponsible and reckless, saying he would perform the ceremony in five minutes.

Also according to the couple, the priest celebrated Mass in 15 minutes, took off his cassock and not the altar itself gave the final blessing. He would still treated badly guests and prevented the musicians hired to do the final presentation.

After the incident, the couple decided in court. In a statement, the priest found that the wedding was scheduled for 20h. He argued that, to compensate for the absence of the final blessing, he would provide a written blessing of Pope Benedict XVI.

The trial judge gave judgment in favor of the priest, but the couple decided to appeal. The Court, however, recognized the damage and ordered to indemnify the Archdiocese Mitra two for $ 2000.
