Gizmo: Save on long distance calls
It is not the first time that I speak here on the blog for ways to spend less to talk to distant relatives or friends and even customers. I have spoken of Skype , the Yahoo Voice , Voip UOL . Now, I am speaking of the Gizmo .
This tool has many fans, etc. and such, but I just open, I make my connection and go. Let's get to it:
- Please download and install the program, to register.
- Buy credits of 10 or $ 20.
The rates for calls through Gizmo (price in U.S. dollars):
Rio de Janeiro Telephone: 0024 / Mobile: 0159
New York: Fixed: 0058 / Fixed: 0159
All Brazil: Fixed: 0051 / Mobile: 0202
I mean, if you call the Rio de Janeiro, will pay 0.024 × 1.75 = R $ 0.042, ie almost four centavos a minute. I used a conversion rate of $ 1.75 to the dollar, which is the average price on the invoice that comes from my credit card.
I just called the interior of Sergipe. I was 12 minutes on the phone, the call cost $ 0.62, or R $ 1.09 ... 12 minutes talking for almost a reality. It is very cheap. The same connection, the traditional telephone companies, would go to:
GVT (Basic Plan): R $ 4.20
CTBC Telecom (Basic Plan LDN): R $ 5.16
Embratel (Basic Plan LDN): R $ 5.86
Hi (LDN Basic Plan: A $ 6.36
Telephone (Basic Plan LDN): R $ 9.01
Intelig (Basic Plan LDN): R $ 10.09
Vesper (Basic Plan): R $ 11.72

So there is no doubt, VOIP is still the most attractive option for connection to long distance.
Gizmo has an excellent quality, no echo, no biting voice, gives a good talk. And does not charge a connection fee as Skype. In fact, in my Velox 1 MB connection, the connection is superior to Gizmo call via Skype, which has given eco sometimes.
Ahhh, he "talks" with Google Talk, Jabber, MSN, Yahoo, AIM, and of course phones and mobiles.

Fine, however, as Google bought Gizmo, someone tell me how to buy credits? Has Google Checkout and Moneybookers, but from what I saw none has the ability to use cards in Brazil (even international).
Ahello how are you?
2I can not put credits in Gizmo5
Brazil does not have the option to pay by credit card
what do I do? hug
I was some time in Japan, and used much 12Voip (also has VoipRaider, the same company). He makes free calls to many countries (for landline). To enable free calls you need to register and buy credits, then the countries listed on the site you get 300 minutes a week to talk, Durantes valid 3 months. When passing the 3 months you need to buy more credits to get the phone free for 3 months. Works very well and use today, even though in Brazil to make local calls for free. The quality is not perfect but also not wanting.
3Very good this tip ... when my brother was in Portugal I used Skype a lot, and often gave eco .. even with a 1mb connection at home and it was her 4mbs ...
One of these days I try the Gizmo!
