The New 7 Wonders of the World

Christ the Redeemer Imagine participating in the choice of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Well, you can. It's what you want the 'New 7 Wonders Foundation, an organization created in 2001.

From a list of 21 monuments around the world, seven will be chosen throughout the period of 2006. Anyone can vote for the site New 7 Wonders , by 1 January 2007.

Detail: The Christ the Redeemer is listed. Coincidence, but today the statue of Christ is 75 years. Why not take advantage and take that votinho the site?

Colosseum - Rome, Italy;
Christ the Redeemer - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil;
Statue of Liberty - New York, USA;
Statues of Easter Island - Chile;
Great Wall of China - China;
Kremlin - Moscow, Russia;
Machu Picchu - Peru;
Opera House - Sydney, Australia;
Petra - Jordan;
Pyramids of Giza - Egypt;
Stonehenge - Amesbury, United Kingdom;
Taj Mahal, Agra - India;
Kiyomizu-dera Temple - Kyoto, Japan;
Timbuktu - Mali;
Eiffel Tower - Paris, France

The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World are:

1 - Statue of Zeus: The statue of Zeus Olympus was erected in Olympia, Peloponnese in Greece, the great sculptor Phidias. It was all in gold and ivory. It was destroyed.
2 - The Colossus of Rhodes was a large bronze statue erected in the capital of the island of Greece that carried the same name. Destroyed by an earthquake.
3 - Temple of Artemis: was erected in Asia Minor, the famous temple of Artemis (Diana). It took 120 years to build, by contributors from Asia. The great temple burned down.
4 - The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, also in Asia Minor, takes its name from King Mausolus of Caria. After his death, his wife, Artemis, contruí solve it in his honor. The remains of the mausoleum are the British Museum.
5 - Lighthouse of Alexandria in Egypt, was the forerunner of modern lighthouses. Originally, the name belonged to a coastal island, Pharos.
6 - The Hanging Gardens of Babylon have long since vanished. Large terraces were built, one above the other. In them were planted gardens of tropical flowers, palm trees and avenues. They were irrigated by water pumps of the Euphrates.
7 - The great pyramids of Egypt are still standing. Were built between 2650 and 2500 BC Excluding parts of the Mausoleum and the Temple of Artemis, they are the only remaining of the seven wonders.

    I think the Statue of Liberty to win the championship, after all it shows a larger truth that many people refuse to see.
    She is back to America.
