Letter takes 56 years to reach its destination in London
LONDON, 16 May (AFP) - A letter in the mail posted in London on March 3, 1950, a few days ago finally arrived at its destination, the city of Cambridge, 90 miles north London, said on Tuesday spokesman of the national postal service, James Taylor.
The letter is addressed to a certain George Green, with a woman named Gwen made an appointment for the following weekend.
"The letter was open, so it is extremely unlikely to have remained in our system during this time," he said. "It's possible that she has been placed in a large envelope and sent to a wrong address," he added, acknowledging that in any case, it is a really curious occurrence.
